French Cycling Holidays is happy to make entries for cyclists from around the world.
Acte II will certainly be the more challenging as it winds over 197km between Pau and Bagnères de Luchon, covering a number of the legendary Pyreneen climbs on the way. From the Aubisque and Soulor, to the famous Col du Tourmalet just past the halfway point, this route will challenge the most experienced of riders. The Aspin and the Peyresourde do not make for an easier second half either, with nearly 1500m of climbing between them. At least the last section is a roll downhill into Bagnères de Luchon, from where we will return to our hotels.
French Cycling Holidays have 3 night packages based in Lourdes, halfway between the start and the finish, staying in either 3* or 4* accommodation.
The packages are either £725 or £795, depending on the level of accommodation. All packages will include all breakfast and dinners, transport from Toulouse airport* or Pau TGV station/airport or Lourdes TGV station/airport.
We will, as usual, be organising a bike transport service from our base in Watford for those flying who are wary about leaving their bikes to the tender mercies of the baggage handlers, and more importantly to ensure that your bike makes it to the start at all!
We will be staying at hotels close together in Lourdes and prices are based on the hotel stayed at. Note: hotels may be subject to change but will be of a similar standard of comfort and facilities.
All Acte II packages start on Thursday 12th July (pick up day) and end Sunday 15th July (departure day).
